Rod Suhr is a graduate of Kearney State College (currently University of Nebraska at Kearney) where he received his bachelor’s degree in Education.
Suhr has worked for Prairie Meadows since December 2017 where he is currently the Assistant Director of Table Games. In this role he is responsible for almost 200 employees and everything Table Games related. Suhr has been in the gaming industry since 1990 first working in Las Vegas until 1995 where he then moved to Mississippi. Suhr spent the next 22 years working in the Mississippi Casino market in various positions. The last 15 years Suhr was in Mississippi he was at Bally’s Casino. Suhr was the Director of Table Games for Bally’s since 2007 before relocating to Iowa to go to work at Prairie Meadows.
Coming back to Prairie Meadows completed a full circle journey for Suhr. In the summer of 1990 before moving to Las Vegas he spent the summer in Iowa working at Prairie Meadows on the racetrack, now almost 30 years later he is back in central Iowa working at the same place he worked at the summer after he graduated college.
Suhr is a native of Nebraska, he grew up in a little farm town about 75 miles west of Omaha. Currently he lives in Monroe Iowa with his wife of 14 years Renee and their crazy German Shepherd Gus.
