10th Annual CelebrAsian Scholar Application
The Iowa Asian Alliance will award up to five $1,000 scholarships to outstanding students with at least one year remaining in trade school or higher education for the August 2025 – Summer 2026 academic year.
CelebrAsian Scholars are selected for their academic achievements, community service, leadership, and, most importantly, their commitment to embracing and preserving their culture and heritage—both now and in the future.
Those interested in applying for the CelebrAsian Scholar must do the following:
Submit an application and a one-page essay.
Submit a high-quality headshot image.
Showcase your traditional cultural attire by participating in the CelebrAsian Fashion Show on Saturday, May 24th, 2025.
Requirements to participate:
Must be a current high school senior or a student enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year institution with at least one academic year remaining (preference given to high school seniors and first-year college/trade school students).
Must identify as Asian, Asian American, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander through at least one parent.
Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Must demonstrate a commitment to your culture and heritage, along with volunteer service and leadership through family, school, community, and/or employment.
Must submit the application and required materials online by 11:59 PM on Monday, May 5 to celebrasian.entertainment@iowaasianalliance.com
Must showcase your cultural attire by participating in the CelebrAsian Fashion Show on Saturday, May 24.
Timeline:
Application due: Monday, May 5th at 11:59pm
Finalists announced: Saturday, May 10th
Required CelebrAsian Fashion Showcase: Saturday, May 24th from 5pm to 7pm
Winners announced: Saturday, May 24th
Scholarship Payment: August 2025
